Story

This project came to existence after a short conversation at a boardgames party, with my friend Claudia Cojocaru, a motion designer & illustrator.

Naturally, as I love all things creative, I was impressed by her work and decided that I can really help by bringing it to life through a custom portfolio that can really put her work in spotlight while also representing her style and mood in it. Challenge accepted! The illustration below became the theme where we hit it off.

Process

After some moodboards, brainstorming sessions and inspiration gathering, we slowly but surely started filtering out ideas one by one, until we were left with the ones that to set the destination to our creative journey.

I started exploring them individually and the better I got to know her art style and personality, the better I could come up with ideas that would align with her vision. Ultimately, with her help, I narrowed everything down to a Figma design.

Design

The project itself took a few twists along the path. From a minimal approach, it went down the lane of typographic design and showcase, but after a few adjustments, both me and Claudia reached to the conclusion that those little yellow guys you saw above were just way too pretty and cute not to become the mascots of her style.

Simple and playful, yet still focused on her projects. That's the main purpose that the portfolio shaped itself into along this journey.

Result

The current status of the project is that it is in development. This won't stay like that for long as I need to wrap up some performance things and some tiny adjustments.

Still, even without the project being fully live, I can share the latest version for you to take a peak. I hope you will enjoy checking this project as much as I had fun creating it.
